Voices of Fisher (VoF) is a grassroots, volunteer community group that kicked off in March 2024. We believe in fairness, integrity, and gender and intergenerational equity. We think government decision making and policy development should be based on evidence, not ideology and that there is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come.
We know politics can and should be done better and we want to hear what the people of Fisher think.
We ran listening events based on the model pioneered by Cathy McGowan in Indi and the Community Independent Project. Through Kitchen Table Conversations, we reached about 500 people in the Federal electorate of Fisher and heard what their concerns were and what they want in their Federal representative. We've held democracy sausage sizzles and Pub Conversations all over the electorate. And with a massive turnout of 200 people, Zali Steggall OAM MP came to the Sunshine Coast for an event co-hosted by Voices of Fisher and our northern neighbours, Fairfax Matters.
If you can't get along to an event, be heard and included by filling out the survey
The data we have collected over six months of listening exercises is available in our "Fisher Speaks: Community Voices Report" available now.
