The Community Independent Project (CIP) Convention was inspiring and motivating. At capacity ,with 1000 registrations from across the country, with many more people engaging via Watch Parties like we did in Fisher. The Convention went all day Saturday with presentations from most independent MPs and independent Senator, David Pocock. It is strikingly evident that they are incredibly high calibre people working diligently for their communities. There were so many highlights it is hard to pick one. We'll go with hearing Richard Denniss from the Australia Institute talking about his decades of experience working with government and the rationality and sense that he has seen a strong cross bench bring to legislation and policy development, and comparing how the strong 2 party system is actually detrimental to good policy outcomes and is quite contrary to how most other parliaments in the world work.
