200 People Attended Key Sunshine Coast Event.
We heard from a legend of the community independent movement.
Thanks to all who came along to hear Zali Steggall OAM MP speak. We had 200 people with the Lakehouse up to capacity!
We are privileged to have Zali here and she spoke with passion about her time in parliament, respectful political debate, gambling ad reform, accessing information through the media and how climate litigation is on the rise.
We were also lucky to have Tina Jackson from Community Independents Project here, who spoke about the rise in the independents movement and building the community before selecting a candidate.
Fergus outlined the main issues found in our Fisher Speaks: Community Voices Report which we launched on the night.
Keryn and Jaine called for candidates and volunteers for letterboxing to help find an independent for both the Fisher and Fairfax electorates for the next federal election, due by 2025.
We're thrilled with the engagement in our local community, thanks Sunshine Coast!
