Welcome to Voices of Fisher

We are a group of volunteers from across the beautiful southern Sunshine Coast and hinterland who share a deep concern about the state of politics and the erosion of public trust in our democracy.

In 2024, we came together to listen to our community through Kitchen Table Conversations, surveys, meetings, and local events. We wanted to know what mattered most to the people of Fisher. What we heard was clear: our community is ready for a new kind of politics — one that puts people before parties.

In response, we endorsed and supported an independent candidate, Keryn Jones, in the 2025 federal election. Keryn achieved an extraordinary result — the highest first-time independent vote in Queensland, and one of the strongest in the nation. It showed what our listening project had already revealed: there is a strong appetite for independent representation here in Fisher.

But the work of strengthening democracy doesn’t only happen at election time. Voices of Fisher is committed to keeping our community engaged, informed, and involved in shaping solutions to the big issues that affect us all. We believe our community deserves to be heard — not taken for granted.

So, we'll be engaging with our community to listen, learn and work together to make a positive difference.
